Finally found a pair of the Batman dunk mids. Although I expected there to be a little more yellow (such as the stitching) they are still undeniably fresh. The shoe resembles the original Batman colors using a dark grey over most of the shoe with a black swoosh, and black laces. The inside panels feature a bright yellow to represent Batman's utility belt. I think Nike did a wonderful job in recapturing the Caped Crusader's original colorway and these are by far, my favorite dunks.

xbox
I recently stumbled across these "Xbox Dunks" while searching for a new pair. These are a custom pair that are not being sold as far as I know. However these may be some of the most creative customs I've ever seen.
Avenger
The Avenger dunks were first released in 2005 and were relatively unpopular at the time. Nowadays they are a highly sought after shoe due to their rarity. There are two versions of the shoe featuring different colorways as well as different leather materials. The blue avengers feature a navy toe with ocean cyan pinstripes while the purple version feature a black toe with purple pinstripes. Both shoes come with laces that match the pinstripes flawlessly to make the shoe POP. Each shoe was made with patent leather as well as the original style we have become accustomed to.
The blue avengers shown above feature the patent leather while the purple avengers use the regular leather.

The Crustaceans
The Lobster dunks are a rather rare shoe that many members of the sneakerhead community have sought after for years. Nike noticed how popular the shoe had become and over the years released two new colorways. The original Lobster dunks of course mimicked the reddish hue of a cooked lobster, featured a picnic blanket design on the inside lining and came with the same type of rubberbands that are placed on a live lobster's claws to add to the design. The second colorway took a new image using the color blue but still retained the original picnic blanket the design but also used the same new blue colorway. Most recently Nike has released the yellow version of the Lobster dunks. It is fully yellow but uses the same red used in the original shoe. These dunks also use the picnic blanket lining but, like the original, uses red instead of yellow.

Dunk Socks
Since the Nike Dunk shoe has been so popular throughout the years, there have actually been a line of socks modeled after some of the more popular and rare dunks. So if you love dunks but don't necessarily have the money to afford them, you can always buy the socks. They average at $12.99 per pair which is expensive for socks, but then again, it is an expensive shoe.

5th Anniversary Dunks
This month marks the 5th anniversary that the website n-sb.org has been up and running. A user of the site, Sharp020, has created a custom dunk commemorating the event. They will be up for grabs in the lottery section of the site very soon.
I am Ironman
These Dunk Highs, dubbed the Ironman's will be released sometime this November. The shoe was actually designed after the Adult Swim show Metalocolypse. I've never seen the show but it certainly has inspired a rather attractive shoe.
glow in the dark
These are a pair of the Glow in the Dark Nike Dunks. As you can see the swoosh outline glows brightly while the rest of the sneaker does not. There are other styles of the dunk that also glow in the dark with different colorways and glow styles.
These feature an all over glow style as opposed to the swoosh glow only.

sneakerhead vs. sneaker enthusiast
Recently, I have been asked to explain the difference between a sneakerhead and a sneaker enthusiast. By my definition a "sneakerhead" is someone who buys and collects rare shoes. Sneakerheads will usually buy the same pair of shoes multiple times in order to have a collecting pair as well as a "beatup" pair for everyday wear. A "sneaker enthusiast" is someone who has a great taste in sneakers but does not have an actual collection. They are usually not willing to spend the required amount of money to obtain a pair of shoes when the cost begins to get too high.

Holiday 2010
Nike SB's newest releases, set to launch in during the holiday season of 2010, feature 4 new dunks (1 high, 1 mid, 2 low) as well as others. Nike will also be releasing a modified version of the mid dunk (shown below)
This shoe features a slight twist to the original design by adding a double swoosh, corduroy side panels, and a green tongue tag and lining underneath the lace holes.

Batmans
These are the Batman dunks I mentioned in my last post. Unlike the Venoms, which were actually re released a short time ago, the Batmans are quite hard to find for a relatively cheap price or even in the right size. I am looking to buy a pair so if anyone knows where to buy REAL ones please let me know :)
New shoes
After ordering a pair of shoes last week they finally came in the mail yesterday. These are called the Dunk High SB "Venoms" since they resemble Spidermans nemesis. These shoes were orginally released in 2008 in the Superheroes/Villians pack. The Spiderman and Batman mids were also released along with these shoes and the Boba Fett's were later added.

History of the Dunk
The Nike Dunk shoe was first released in 1985 as a basketball shoe. Nike formulated contracts with numerous universities across the nation, designing the colorways to match the teams uniforms and school colors. In 1998, Nike re released the dunks in the college colorways as well as many other colors to the general public. These dunks featured a nylon tongue and arch supports adn wound up being incredibly successful. Soon after their release, they became popular in the skateboarding community. This increased popularity created a new market for Nike and led to the release of the Nike Dunk SBs. Over the years Dunks and Dunk SBs have continued to gain momentum as they are the most sought after sneaker in the US.

Pigeons
These are the Nike Dunk Low SB Pigeons. These are perhaps the rarest dunks ever released, usually selling for over one thousand dollars. When first released, these shoes received so much "hype" that a riot formed outside a sneaker shop in New York.

How to Spot Fakes
Nike Dunks are increasing in popularity each day. With increased popularity also comes those trying to make quick and easy money by making replicas of these rare shoes. This post will try to help you tell these abominations from authentic dunks.
Instructions
Start by looking at the upper back heel of the Nike Dunk. The word "NIKE" should be in bold font rather than thin font, and the "E" should be thick and slanting proportionally. If the "NIKE" is embroidered onto the heel rather than printed, a too-thin font can also signal a fake pair.
Check to see that the tongue of the shoe is curved rather than straight. A tongue that is straight across the top means that the pair is fake.
Verify that the stitching on the outside of the shoe on the seams is straight and uniform.
Examine the small, rectangular plastic baggie containing the Nike Dunk shoelaces. If the bag measures about 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 centimeters wide and 10 to 12 centimeters tall and has a hole punch below the bag's ziplock rather than above it, you likely have a pair of faux Dunks.
Compare the pair of Nike Dunks in question with a pair you already own, if applicable, to see that the materials feel the same. If you do not already own a pair and have received the shoes by mail, make sure that the leather and suede on the sneakers feel authentic and not like plastic.
Check to see if an online seller uses the word "replica" or "variants" in his description of the Nike Dunks. This is a giveaway that the shoes are fakes.
Use good judgment when browsing Nike Dunks sold online on sites such as eBay. If a particular vendor has several pairs of a rare model and is selling them for far below retail price, there is a good chance they're not authentic.
Websites that sell fake Dunks typically have the same sizes listed. The sizes are usually 8, 8.5, 9, 9.5, 10, 11, and 12. If you notice this you may want to check out the sites FAQ's to see if anyone has asked about the shoes authenticity. If they do not mention on their website that their shoes are 100% Authentic then they most likely aren't.- If every pair of shoes costs exactly the same price it is a sure indication that those shoes are not authentic and the site is not legitimate.

About me
My name is Brady and I am a sneaker enthuisast. My favorite shoe is the Nike Dunk so most posts on this blog will be primarily about them. I will mostly talk about shoes that I have found recently even if they are a little outdated but I'll also post the latest dunks released and comment on how they look. If there are other shoes that I find fresh I wil also blog about them. Let me know if you find any shoes that you find that you'd like me to comment on...
